In his nearly three-decade career, Michael has provided strategic climate change advisory services to Fortune 100 companies, the public sector, and non-governmental organizations (like the UNFCCC). As vice president, sustainability, energy, and climate change, Michael successfully supports our clients as they navigate their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) obligations and aspirations.
Passionate about climate action, Michael has experience in greenhouse gas accounting, policy development, adaptation, mitigation, and resilience. His contributions to climate change action have been recognized at the global level with his work that led to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) winning the IPCC 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. He is committed to doing all it takes to secure a just and sustainable future.
With a deep understanding of physical and transition risks, Michael guides his clients as they move towards a low-carbon economy, addressing both investor confidence and regulatory compliance with protocols like CDP, GRESB, and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD).
Michael’s favorite activity is spending time with his wife of 26 years, Jennifer, and their three adult daughters. When they’re unavailable, he can be found a Maryland Terrapin basketball game, looking for his golf ball in the rough of a local municipal course, or anguishing over the health of one of the thoroughbred racehorses in which he owns a small (tiny) share.
