If you are ever in a building or facility that Brian has worked on, rest assured he has applied all of his 30 years of experience to keeping that structure as safe as possible from fire. Brian is a senior fire protection engineer with design, engineering, fire safety, and management experience in the public and private sectors. He has designed fire suppression and fire detection/notification systems for a range of project types including mission critical, educational, residential, office, healthcare, public assembly, and nuclear facilities. He has extensive experience in building and fire code analysis, including developing successful alternative materials, design, and methods of construction strategies.
As a former firefighter, Brian has a unique understanding of practical solutions to fire safety challenges. Based in Orlando, he previously served as the Virginia State Fire Marshal, advocating for fire safety legislation before the Virginia General Assembly and actively participating in the International Code Council code development process. He is especially proud to have been named a Fellow in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
In his free time, Brian enjoys riding his motorcycle along the Florida coast, especially if the destination is a good restaurant or brew pub.
