Sierra loves a good challenge. If it’s in a fast-paced work environment, so much the better. With a background as a geologist and an interest in paleobiological ecosystems, she combined these two disciplines and became an environmental engineer. Sierra is keen to work with team members to solve the challenging issues and enhance the overall performance of mines for her clients.
In her position, Sierra leads project teams—something that provides her with a great sense of ownership of the outcomes she delivers. Having worked in both public and private sectors—including on a mine site as an environmental engineer—Sierra has collaborated with diverse owners, stakeholders, and the public to bring realistic and innovative design alternatives to the table. To keep the mining industry relevant for future engineers, she is the national representative for the Women in Mining – Nevada Chapter.
Sierra is an avid backpacker and enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and two rescue dogs.
