As a civil and geotechnical engineer, Cristián is convinced that mine projects can be developed responsibly, both socially and environmentally through mine closure services. Early in his career, after a few years of being involved in different types of mine waste management services and projects, he found that mine closure was the challenge he was looking for as a way to improve mining—and, ultimately, a way to make the world a better place.
Now, Cristián develops and improves mine closure services in Latin America and Chile, where he’s well known for integrating a technical and strategic planning perspective regarding mine closure services. His engineering background and experience in engineering design studies complements his mine closure knowledge—that ranges from closure planning services to detailed engineering design, including strategic advisory services, closure cost, and provision estimates.
