As a marine scientist, Will contributes to the collective knowledge of balancing sustainable development and the use of natural resources with protecting natural values and the aquatic environment.
Will has a strong background in marine and estuarine ecology, fisheries research and management, and environmental impact assessment and monitoring. He has authored over 40 scientific papers or major reports and presented at several international conferences/symposia.
With over 30 years of experience, Will has been involved in a range of projects including environmental monitoring programs associated with major ports and dredging, offshore natural resource infrastructure, and wastewater outfall developments. He also has experience with commercial and recreational fisheries research and management programs, artificial reef and fish habitat enhancement projects, shark-bite mitigation strategic reviews, and programs to monitor ecosystem recovery following major disturbance.
Passionate about sustainable living, Will enjoys cultivating his rural yard to grow a variety of seasonal produce. He also loves watching Australian football.
