Frances has over 26 years of planning experience specialising in strategy and policy development as well as planning approvals. She has a long history of involvement in the development of policy and plans—from issues and options development through to involvement in formal statutory processes.
She has worked extensively on aquaculture initiatives across New Zealand, assisting the Government in developing new regulations for existing marine farms, providing guidance for open ocean aquaculture, and managing salmon farms. She’s also assisted councils with planning for aquaculture, and was involved with two environmental approval projects for aquaculture for Ngāi Tahu Seafood Limited, the commercial arm of a Māori organisation in the South Island.
Outside of work, Frances studies art conservation and helps with a family house museum, based on the art and collections of her mother and stepfather.
