A licensed electrical engineer with our Energy group, Claire specializes in protection and controls (P&C) with a focus on equipment replacements and upgrades at older substations, sometimes dating back to the 1950s. P&C warrants the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical substations, each of which requires her to adapt to various types of outdated equipment. She has worked with major utility companies, such as BC Hydro, to help replace and upgrade their equipment.
Claire believes that this work is important and contributes to a brighter, cleaner future. Her favorite part of the job is going to the site after construction and hearing the field crew say the team did a great job with the design.
When she isn’t helping upgrade electrical substations, Claire enjoys drawing, reading, playing video games, and spending time with her cat, Saturn.
