Since 2011, Ben has worked within our Transportation team as a project manager, discipline lead, and project engineer. As a civil engineer and office leader, he helps clients navigate the evolving constraints of New York City infrastructure, and he enjoys teaching others about the city’s history and exploring innovative design solutions. He’s best known for leading large public infrastructure projects and establishing that all agency stakeholders are on the same page—no easy feat in a complex metropolis with overlapping responsibilities to stakeholders.
A project that exemplifies Ben’s skill is the Lower Concourse Infrastructure project, where he balanced many complex design challenges, each with distinct stakeholders. These challenges involved abutting two bridge approaches, a six-way intersection with an interstate off-ramp and slip lanes, and a new pile-supported sewer weaving around bridge support foundations and over a subway tunnel and an interceptor.
When he isn’t overseeing infrastructure work or co-leading our New York office, Ben enjoys travel, backpacking, playing board games, and acting on stage.
