A senior principal health scientist and board-certified toxicologist, Marisa brings years of consulting experience to our Health Sciences Advisory team, where she serves as the Center of Excellence lead for toxicology and applied risk assessment. Using her knowledge of product stewardship, she assists clients in understanding human health and environmental impacts associated with products at various life cycle stages—applying this knowledge to environmental exposures, occupational scenarios, and use of consumer products.
Marisa’s experience includes toxicology, dose response assessment, exposure and risk assessment, regulatory support, and expert witness support. Since 2020, she has supported several consortia facing regulatory challenges associated with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Toxic Substances Control Act—particularly as related to the EPA’s mandate to evaluate existing chemicals for their human health and environmental risk.
Building a robust publication record, Marisa has published on a variety of topics, including toxicology, occupational exposure, and dose response assessment. She’s also covered chemicals such as benzene, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and tire and road wear particles.
