Steve has focused his career on the creation of state-of-the-art environments that extend beyond the anticipated needs of end-users. A well-rounded architect, he manages design efforts from concept through construction, working closely with clients and stakeholders to cultivate their visions.
Known for his ability to translate ambitions into functional and beautifully crafted solutions, Steve is part of our safety and security research and benchmarking task force. His team studies resilient institutional design and develops best practices for blending awareness and security into sustainability-focused design. Some of his most notable projects include the Phyllis Fratzke Early Childhood Learning Laboratory at Grand Rapids Community College, Mary Idema Pew Library + Information Commons at Grand Valley State University, and a variety of projects for Portage Michigan Public Schools.
In his time away from the office, you can find Steve hanging with his wife and three young children, playing hockey, or bicycling across Metro Detroit.
