As a principal and public sector studio leader, Carl believes that he has a responsibility to not only provide a design that solves the programmatic issues, but to bring positive value to each community through his work. He is acutely aware of the impact architecture has on the communities in which he works, and he designs with those communities and the environment in mind.
With over 30 years of experience in all phases of project development, Carl manages recruiting, retention, staff development, mentorship, and project resource allocation for our Public Sector Studio as well as leadership and direction for quality assurance, and technical and project management issues for the team in Denver. His portfolio includes the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Headquarters and Region 1 Office Building, the City of Fort Collins’ Utilities Administration Building, and the Northern Arizona University School of Communications Expansion. Yet of the myriad projects Carl has worked on, the award-winning Cable Center stands out for its technical challenges and strong client relationship.
Carl is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Colorado and will serve as AIA Colorado Broad President in 2018.
