Focused primarily on the design of higher education and healthcare related facilities, Richard is a designer fascinated by the connections between wellness and designed space. The notion of the built environment promoting healthy living is a continuous thread in each of his projects.
Richard applies a detail-oriented approach to all phases of the design process and prides himself on having a holistic design approach from exterior enclosure design through interior planning development. His thoughtful, scenario-based design process ensures an innovative design solution that enhances the client’s ideologies and long-term vision—something that was demonstrated in his work on The Destination Project for the University of Lethbridge. This design focused on creating an environment that fosters transdisciplinarity, bringing together various disciplines for a larger purpose, goal or solution to a larger problem.
Living on the west end of Toronto, Richard loves living close to the Humber River—you can often find him strolling to the water in his waders to go fly fishing. He also enjoys riding his bike and spends every chance he get with his wife and two kids.
