With over 25 years of experience in municipal and water resources engineering, Colin is a civil engineer. He’s worked with both the public and private sectors, including eight years in utility planning and water infrastructure delivery with the City of Calgary. His current focus is on the design and analysis of stormwater systems to support land development and transportation projects.
Colin has experience in meteorology, hydrology, watershed monitoring, integrated surface water-groundwater numerical modelling, and evapotranspiration processes. He’s an advocate for improving surface water management in urban spaces through green infrastructure (GI) approaches such as bioretention systems, permeable pavement, and green roofs. He leverages his strong understanding of hydrological processes and water budgets to produce high-quality and sustainable stormwater and GI designs.
Colin is originally from Atlantic Canada and he and his wife Pam enjoy spending summer holidays visiting their families in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. He’s an avid reader of military history, and he enjoys golfing and cycling in his spare time.
