Though his work is underground, no-one would ever say Nick has his head in the sand. A highly motivated tunnel engineer, his passion at work is learning, asking challenging questions, and being well rounded in his skills. As Nick says, there’s a lot to learn and he’s not afraid to try.
Nick has 15 years of experience in underground construction with an emphasis in tunnel and trenchless design and construction. His expertise includes geotechnical engineering, tunnel design, geotechnical investigations, construction management, and both trenchless and deep excavation. Along with conventional tunneling methods, his trenchless technologies experience includes microtunneling, horizontal directional drilling, auger boring, pilot tube, pipe jacking, pipe bursting, slip-lining, and cured-in-place liners. A project he’s especially proud of is his role on the construction management team for a major 33-foot diameter CSO tunnel in Rhode Island.
Up from underground, and away from work, Nick enjoys family life and travelling with his wife and children. He also enjoys skiing, playing hockey and fishing. Living in the New England area, where seafood is always on the menu, Nick is becoming a connoisseur of the local favorite, the lobster-roll.
