Steve is Stantec’s chief practice and project officer, responsible for managing the strategic positioning, contractual elements, and governance of Stantec’s largest projects while overseeing alternative project delivery for the Company. He also oversees the efficient operation of Stantec’s corporate Functional Services Teams, who focus on advising and enabling the business.
The best piece of advice Steve ever received from a client was “don’t surprise me.” He’s applied this practical knowledge to client relationships throughout his more than 35 years of experience in engineering, project management, and business management in Sweden, Chile, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
An expert on the topics of project management and public private partnerships, Steve has presented to organizations and conferences throughout North America and has lectured at the University of British Columbia, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Penn State University. He’s also adept at navigating Stantec through the P3 project implementation on big endeavors such as the South Fraser Perimeter Road project.
Steve currently serves as a director on the National Research Council (NRC) advisory board. His board service over the years includes Providence Health Care, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada (ACEC-Canada), and ACEC – British Columbia.
