When he was 10 years old, Fernando’s family went on vacation in the jungle, where his father was working and fixing slope stability problems at a hydroelectric plant. His father’s good friend was the geologist in charge of the tunnel construction, and Fernando asked if it were possible to tour the tunnel. Luck was on his side. After returning home, he declared to his parents that he wanted to be a geologist.
Today, Fernando is a senior hydrogeologist and certified geological engineer with more than 16 years of experience in geotechnics, mining geology, and hydrogeology with a focus on the mining industry.
