As a senior staff ecologist and practice leader, Shawn is primarily responsible for developing and implementing ecosystem restoration projects for our clients in the Great Lakes. This includes invasive species control, native plantings, natural shorelines, stream restoration, erosion control, and prescribed fire. He also assists with wetland delineations, ecological surveys, soil studies, wetland delineations, mitigation, environmental monitoring, and endangered species reviews.
Having completed extensive training and performing macroinvertebrate identification for research studies, Shawn has advanced knowledge of botany, aquatic entomology, limnology, and wetland ecology. He also regularly volunteers with watershed groups, non-profits, stewardship organizations, and government entities to assist with ecological consulting and data collection.
They say life comes at you fast, and Shawn takes that literally—he’s a fastpitch softball coach (and he also likes playing hockey).
