If you do something for a long time, you’re bound to learn a lot. For 42 years, Barry has specialized in designing water conveyance tunnels in soil and rock, working on tunnels up to 33 feet in diameter. His design experience ranges from route selection to detailed design, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and geotechnical baseline reports. He is also versed in nearly every technical aspect of tunneling from boring machinery to supports, liners, and bracing. But that’s not all, Barry’s construction contract administration experience includes management of site condition claims, building settlement claims, and responding to ground-related construction issues.
However, mastery of a wide range of professional skills isn’t Barry’s only priority, he is proud to share his knowledge and experience with newly graduated engineers. This way, his clients, and future engineers, benefit from his insight into better, more enduring solutions.
With a respect for the past, he enjoys spending his off hours restoring old furniture, hand tools, and workshop machines to original condition, replacing parts, refinishing surfaces, and making cosmetic repairs.
