For over 20 years, Colleen has leveraged her fascination with the collective active imagination of public spaces and how they enrich the lives of citizens to create great urban places. As an architect, she’s worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from master plans to buildings and urban design, and in every setting including institutional and industrial to mixed-use residential and retail.
Colleen believes that an integrated approach—bringing designers together from all disciplines to craft a well-rounded public realm—is the key to successful outcomes. With the ongoing Metropolis at Metrotown Master Plan, that methodology has created a new vision for redeveloping a traditional ‘fortress-type’ shopping center into a sustainable and diverse downtown core for Burnaby, British Columbia.
Outside of the office, Colleen loves to travel and experience how cities across the world function, by riding transit systems, cycling, and people watching.
