With over 40 years of experience as a designer and project manager, Marcel has worked on marine engineering projects across Canada, the US, and the Caribbean totaling over $500 million in construction value. As a principal and Atlantic lead in the Ports and Marine sector, he assists with pursuits and client enquiries and advises on planning and feasibility studies, concept designs and design development, technical specifications, design-bid-build and design-build projects, and tender / construction phase services.
Marcel has been involved on such projects as the $250 million B Jetty Replacement project for the Department of National Defence, an oil transshipment facility in Grand Bahamas, the Panama Oil Loading Dock Study, and many others. His specialties include structural analysis, investigations and design, marine and coastal structures, cofferdams, shoring, and rock-bolting. Marcel also provides specialist services to legal teams. He’s conscious of environmental issues and has a strong appreciation for conservation and restoration approaches.
Outside of the office, Marcel enjoys spending time relaxing, fly fishing when he can, and undertaking a wide range of projects in his workshop at his home away from home in Melmerby Beach—where on a clear day, you can see Prince Edward Island across the Northumberland Strait.
