For David, engineering is a family affair. His father and grandfather were civil engineers, so he was introduced to the profession from a young age. He worked at their company during the summer and enjoyed the structural and bridge work most, so he focused on that during his college and career.
As a senior project manager specializing in structures, David uses his experience in design and plan development for various bridge types to provide solutions to each bridge’s challenges. On the US 460 over Pond Creek project, the steep terrain made traditional construction methods near impossible. To overcome this challenge, David and the design team made simple adjustments to the original design of the steel girders and provided a simple procedure so they could be erected using an incremental launch method. As a result, the contractor was able to execute this method successfully.
During his personal time, David enjoys playing golf, something he’s done from a young age.
