Fernando brings his enthusiasm for working with teams and connecting with individuals to execute complex projects for private, municipal, state, and federal clients on dam safety, flood risk reduction, and heavy civil industries. He leads our geotechnical discipline in North America, and he’s a project manager with experience in geotechnical engineering, water resources infrastructure, and general civil engineering design and construction.
Often involved in projects that feature sustainability and resilience-focused design, Fernando has updated levee systems to meet FEMA accreditation requirements, designed coastal storm surge protection systems, decommissioned dams to establish historic stream conditions to promote fish passage, and designed coal combustion residuals landfill closures at power plants.
When he isn’t improving how our built environment interacts with the natural world, Fernando enjoys time spent with his family—especially travelling and checking out new restaurants.
