With a love for playing in water, Michael prepares ecological evaluation, mitigation, and restoration analyses and designs. Licensed as an engineer in multiple states, Michael specializes in aquatic resource restoration including fish passage, dam removal, and fish habitat evaluation and assessment. His passion for aquatic resource restoration projects has engaged him in riverine and estuarine system projects across North America, many of which have an emphasis on restoration of diadromous fisheries.
Michael has worked on over 60 dam removal studies and is the engineer of record for 17 completed dam removal projects. He is also a charter member and current chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers – Environmental & Water Resources Institute Joint Committee on Fisheries Engineering and Science.
