With a background in mechanical engineering, Ben works as a safety and reliability assessor in the nuclear industry. In this role, he has been involved with projects at multiple sites, contributing to and producing safety case documents.
In addition to working with clients across the United Kingdom, Ben has reviewed safety case methods and criteria for Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. He also delivered a conceptual safety analysis of their proposed Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre.
Ben was part of the setup of the 3TSC consultancy in 2008, taking responsibility for its financial strategy until acquisition by Hydrock and subsequently Stantec. His current role as the financial lead for the subsidiary includes integration and alignment of financial processes with Stantec’s corporate methods.
Although Ben qualified as a ski instructor in his youth, he recognized the downsides of a four-months-a-year career in winter sports and chose to follow the calling of the nuclear industry instead.
