Inspired by his dad, a powerplant operator, from a young age, Roy has always been fascinated by large dams and hydroelectric projects. Today, as a civil engineer specializing in hydraulics, he has nearly two decades of experience in the design and supervision of hydraulic works.
In recent years, Roy has participated in various waterpower projects such as Yaku, Ayanunga, Santa Teresa, Huanza, Marañón and Yaupi in Peru, and La Confluencia and Chacayes in Chile. He was also involved in dam projects for water management of mining projects such as Vizcachas and Asana in Peru. Not one to shy away from a challenge—and known to always be an empathetic listener—Roy enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams on large projects and helping others learn along the way.
When he’s not working on large hydroelectric projects, you’ll often find Roy with his children watching movies, listening to music, and playing soccer.
