Dena believes that transit networks are one of the pillars of developing healthy, sustainable, resilient, and prosperous communities not only for today, but also for future generations. They require careful consideration that may challenge societal norms.
A passion for creating great communities that influence social interaction drives Dena to look at transportation solutions in a multidisciplinary way and take a multi-modal approach to her work. While working on some of the largest transit projects in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Chicago, she has strengthened her expertise in the sector while managing and working with large teams across Canada and the United States. Most recently, Dena relocated to Chicago as one of the key segment leads on the CTA Red and Purple Modernization Project.
Although Dena considers her work her passion, she also enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors—on walks with her two chocolate labs exploring the city or out in nature fishing, hiking, and skiing or snowboarding.
