Architect Giovanna Gambardella reflects on homelessness in her adopted hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, and how to be a force for change
Homelessness is a global challenge. Anchorage architect Giovanna Gambardella is doing something about it in her community.
She recently joined the Housing, Homeless and Neighborhood Development Commission at the Municipality of Anchorage. The commission’s purpose is to advise on initiatives associated with long- and short-term housing and various issues related to homelessness.
“As an architect, mother and community member, I am looking forward to contributing my expertise to the conversation, including my experience with land use, code and design,” Giovanna says.
