Classroom/Virtual Course
Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is 100% preventable, and an effective hearing conservation program is designed to prevent hearing loss. NIHL can be caused by a single exposure to an extreme burst of noise (e.g., explosion), or by continuous exposure of loud noise over a period of time (e.g., working near farm equipment). This course details the importance of having a noise and hearing conservation program and discusses the differences between sound and noise, legislative and regulatory requirements, personal protective equipment, and equipment used to measure noise levels.
