The Elizabeth Quay precinct sits on Perth's scenic Swan River waterfront, bringing the river and city together to form new leisure opportunities for locals and visitors. This new development returns the city’s focus to the water and is at the heart of a plan to revitalise the city centre and enhance Perth’s reputation as one of the most liveable cities in the world.
The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority required our team to execute comprehensive design documentation, feasibilities, cost estimates, and business case reports supporting the deployment of smart city technologies into this prominent inner-city redevelopment. We completed the design of security, implementing CCTV, ICT (active network and Wi-Fi), AV signage, and wayfinding technology to help people orient themselves in the space and navigate from place to place. This was all accomplished through a web-based centralised control system and assists the management of the public space, providing a safe environment for all to enjoy.
Smart technology in this new precinct reduces the need for facility management teams to be deployed, as the systems implemented proactively monitor and maintain systems. This landmark project expands the city’s grid and is helping to create a more connected and vibrant Perth.
