Annual recognition of the wonderful and incredible accomplishments of our fellow female engineers
Each year on 23 June, our industry celebrates the impressive and inspiring women in engineering careers with International Women in Engineering Day.
The day, started by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), is an international awareness campaign to raise the profile and amazing work of women in engineering, as well as inspiring future generations of women entering the industry.
This year’s theme is ‘Transforming the Future’, is supported by hashtags #INWED19 and #TransformTheFuture, showing people worldwide how women are transforming the future in pursuit of more diversity in engineering.
Stantec recognise that the workplace should reflect the diversity of our community and are committed on encouraging women in pursuing a career in engineering.
As a long-time supporter of diversity and inclusion, Stantec's Australia Country Lead José Granado says International Women in Engineering Day provides us with a great opportunity to join in and celebrate the achievements of our outstanding women engineers.
“We are passionate about diversity and inclusion here at Stantec, and I think that in any industry, having a diverse workforce is important for bringing together people with a broad range of ideas and backgrounds,” says José.
Diversity brings diverse thinking which is why we showcased one of our female engineers each day this week. If you haven’t already read their stories, check them out in the related information below.
Together we can Transform the Future. Join us today on International Women in Engineering day, as we #TransformTheFuture and celebrate women in engineering.
