Michael has over 30 years’ experience in the design, management and operation of water and wastewater networks. This includes managing the construction of new and rehabilitated major pipeline and pumping station projects for water companies in the United Kingdom and Overseas.
Michael understands the challenges of ensuring a constant supply of drinking water to customers and key business centres in an increasingly water-stressed environment. He has helped pioneer a new ‘Integrated Infrastructure Planning and Delivery Process’ breaking down the silos created between infrastructure and non-infrastructure to increase value and efficiency.
Michael developed a series of on-line GIS systems to manage and improve the efficiency of asset surveys and data sharing with multiple stakeholders.
Water supply system data analytics is key to Michael’s role and his promotion of innovation in the water supply arena. Michael has developed systems to manage the day to day operation of water supply systems, minimising energy consumption and leakage while providing increased resilience.
