Samuel is a civil and structural engineer with vast experience in the management and maintenance of highway structures, including preparing life cycle plans with whole life costing for different highway asset management strategies. He also has a comprehensive knowledge of inspections, scour assessments, analysis techniques for structural reviews, and load assessment of highway bridges.
In his position, Samuel undertakes feasibility studies for structural improvement to existing highway structures with the main goal of extending their working lives to meet clients’ short-, medium- and long-term goals. He has experience in the use of Eurocodes, the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and implementation of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works. In addition, Samuel undertakes project management from concept designs to construction stages of projects and leads large teams to deliver projects for clients.
Outside of work, Samuel enjoys spending time with his family and watching his son play competitive football.
