Material Handling Systems
Material handling solutions from pit to port
Our team of specialists understands the nuances and complexities of handling and delivering bulk materials such as iron ore, bauxite, and metallurgical coal from pit to port. We’re here to help you navigate this process. Our understanding of the end-to-end supply chain—including processing, handling, storage, and transport—means we can provide you with efficient and functional designs for your material handling process.
Moving your products efficiently is key to successful business, and that’s why we’re passionate about tailoring fit-for-purpose solutions to suit your needs, and the needs of your local community. Safety and environmental consideration are central to our design solutions.
Let’s collaborate to harness innovation and implement engineering principles that are both robust and sustainable. Let us know how we can help you overcome your materials handling obstacles.
Moving mined material where it needs to go
Whether you’re mining underground or at the surface, we can help you move materials important to your operation. We have designed material handling systems for a broad variety of commodities, from copper to gold and diamonds to potash. Designing a conveyance system that increases safety and reliability is just as important as designing one that cost-effectively increases production. We offer a complete range of material handling services including feasibility studies, engineering design, project management, and construction.Storing and transporting ore
Our teams of engineers, designers, and planners work together to facilitate storage and transport of ore and mined materials. Once processed, we can help get the mined material to the end consumer. This can involve long-haul trucks, rail systems, and even intercontinental shipping. Transportation planners help you map how to efficiently move ore from the mine to processing facilities, storage, ports, and beyond. We examine how to efficiently move materials using conveyors, trains, or trucks. We’ve designed all-inclusive material handling systems for mines producing 175,000 tons per day from underground as well as belt conveyor systems with capacities up to 7,000 tons per hour, conveying material weighing up to 150 pounds per cubic foot (2,400 kilograms per cubic metre) with belt widths up to 96 inches (243 cm). We’ve also designed one of the world’s largest high-speed load-out conveyors for a potash mine. Read MoreMike Peden, Manager of Material Handling (Global)
