Brian grew up spending the entirety of his summers running through redwoods along the Russian River in California. The idea of this landscape providing the means for its development—from design inspiration to local material procurement—became instrumental to his way of thinking.
Core to Brian’s beliefs is designing in a way that connects architecture and place. Driven by his social and inquisitive nature, he begins by connecting with clients and discussing the region, site conditions, and the surrounding urban or environmental context. Understanding these elements and inclusion of others within the process creates an identity for how a project can connect to its place. Brian’s focus has been delivering projects in the city and surrounding region of Sacramento focusing on residential, workplace, and civic design and architecture.
Outside of work, Brian finds balance enjoying the outdoors and his life on the grid. An active runner, he regularly explores urban grid and regional trails, and you can also often find him fly fishing along his local Putah Creek.
