Glenn is a group leader and accredited fire engineer with more than 21 years of experience in fire safety engineering. In addition to working on fire safety designs across all occupancy classifications, he spent 16 years in Ireland’s fire service before moving to Australia.
Drawing upon his deep knowledge of fire science, buildings, and human behaviour, Glenn develops functional solutions for technically challenging design issues. In Ireland, he developed a community fire safety model that used census data and operational response times to identify small geographical areas (50–200 dwellings) more disposed to fire risk. The first of its kind in the country, the results were then used to inform targeted community fire safety campaigns. Glenn has also published literature and presented at international conferences on the evacuation of children from fires.
When he isn’t refining fire safety designs or entertaining his two girls, Glenn likes to keep active by playing football, boxing, surfing, and doing anything that involves physical activity. He also enjoys listening to podcasts and reading books relating to physiology and psychology.
