Sarah balances the national role of Transport NZ Climate Change and Sustainability Lead with her local role as team leader. Her work spans transport planning, business case development, and the emerging area of infrastructure sustainability.
She’s most well-known for leading transport business cases, e.g. Dunedin City Council's Shaping Future Dunedin Transport Programme Business Case and the Freight Fleet Decarbonisation Indicative Business Case for KiwiRail. She believes they improve the quality of decision making and promote a broad range of options. Her favourite part? Evaluating options through multi-criteria analysis, helping people understand each option’s strengths and weaknesses.
Sustainability has been a passion of Sarah’s since she was a teenager, and she’s excited to combine this with her transport planning and business case skills. She wants to help reduce New Zealand’s carbon footprint.
Outside work Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons and loves running, tramping and swimming. She’s still searching for her green thumb.
