David believes understanding and addressing geotechnical challenges is crucial for the stability and safety of infrastructure projects. As a principal geotechnical engineer, his role involves assessing soil and rock conditions to inform construction projects, designing foundations and earthworks, conducting slope stability analysis, and providing recommendations for mitigating geotechnical risks.
Along with his team, David helps contribute to the resilience and longevity of structures, safeguard the investments of clients, and enhance the safety of communities. He’s especially proud of our involvement in a landslip remediation project in Hastings, New Zealand. Through detailed geotechnical analysis and collaboration with stakeholders, the team developed a range of remedial measures including soil nails, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, and drainage improvements to reduce the likelihood of future landslips.
When he’s not enjoying the problem-solving aspects of geotechnical engineering, David loves exploring new places, immersing himself in different cultures, trying out local foods, and making memories.
