Over the course of his career, Dougie has completed many global dam safety inspections and supervised reservoir safety emergencies. His proficiencies include long-term monitoring and performance analysis, flood/overflow capacity studies, and improvement works. Added to this, he has experience with dam decommissioning studies, leakage investigations, and quantitative risk assessments work.
One of Dougie’s recent projects included the Somerset Dam Improvement project in Queensland, where he completed concept level fish pass options. He has also worked with Dunedin City Council in New Zealand on dam safety studies for nine reservoirs in the region. Dougie is also the design lead on labyrinth spillway designs and additional optioneering for two extreme consequence dams in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
When not working on dam projects, Dougie loves being a dad, cooking, running, and fitness in general. He is about to embark on his first (half) Melbourne Marathon with the office run team.
